I was talking to a close friend of mine who owns a successful club in Hollywood. He’s decided to open up a new restaurant, and in the past year he’s run into a million obstacles with the government. Everyday it’s a permit for this, it’s an inspection for that, that’ll take 6 months, this isn’t up to code, that isn’t up to spec, and so on and so on. The headaches basically won’t stop for another year. So I asked how he stays motivated.

Why Advertising Loves Your Depression
The best consumer is an unhappy one. The fact is, unhappy people are willing to take more action than someone satisfied. So how do you find an unhappy consumer? Create one. It’s easier to make someone into a customer by creating a problem for them and having a solution, then finding people with real problems.

Exercise Causes Depression and Other Risk Factors
Exercise makes you depressed...but more on that later.
Once you are depressed and in that hole, it’s difficult to get out. It feels like there's nothing you can do. However, what I’ve found most helpful is to avoid that place altogether. You can do that by watching the behaviors that contribute towards depression. Most of the time, we don’t just wake up depressed. It’s like a slow drip of morphine that makes everything foggy and demoralizing. There is a definite mind body connection that leads to depression. The Sadness Spiral is one of the culprits.
